Why the hate on Xoom?

Why do guy's dislike Xoom so much?
Just curious.
I thought he's been a pretty stand up guy.
It has to be pretty difficult with DOC telling him what to do.

Speaking of Xoom, does anyone know if he actually works in the CRS office in Texas?

Saying the game price at $18/month was to high. Asking why people get $9.99 offers but long term players struggling to play a game with bugs still have to pay $18.

Not agreeing with the answer and gathering a group of supports (not intentionally) that agreed with those questions.

Getting banned because of that.


and I don't HATE the man. I just don't agree with some of the decisions and reactions and the inconsistent rulings. It's a tough job, one that I would not want, but if you step up to the big plate you better know how to hit the big league pitches.

Easy on pete he mostly just wanted to encourage new players and help them play the game and make their own opinions. CRS conduct is a different matter.

In regards to xoom I think he is at the very least inept. With his supposed skills in marketing he's shown little:
- They made a trailer finally but where did he upload it? His personal youtube account not the games (poorly done) official account. He only moved it there once he was told on mmorpg that an official trailer should be on the 'official' channel

They still have pre 1.33 infantry model images on what is one of the most important pages of their site. Those were updated 2 years ago. Why spend so much time making pretty inf models so the game looks up to date when you try to sell it with shit ones that have not been in the game for 2 years. It would take 5 minutes on offline to replicate that exact shot. Brought it up on MMORPG but nothing

- Is out of touch with internet and especially computer game marketing. Flashy boxes on a site for a aesthetically outdated WW2 game on a site populated by teenage players of fantasy RPG is just spending money on the wrong demographic. WW2 history sites and forums would be far better

- He releases 0 gameplay footage from the buzzcam onto youtube. Todays gamers will not download a game on a trailer and a text of promises they want to see solid gameplay. If you have none or can only show them sub par gameplay taken from low res fraps or a guy on the ground rather than including buzzcam footage the game looks bad as it doesn't play to its strengths

- He shows his mindset and understanding of the market when he calls F2P players "baggage" and "free loaders" when a) any player is an asset b) the game would have the numbers of a battlefield server most of the time without them c) how do you expect them to become $10 or $18 a month subscribers when they haven't even played. They attempt to transform the game so casual players stay around then they don't want them?

- When questioned about their being no training server he said it wasn't needed and that people should play in game instead of using it

- Poor PR skills

Xoom never bothered me and I actually thought he wasn't a bad guy in my dealings with him.
Gophurs pretty cool and Bloo's pretty professional in my limited dealings with him.
DOC on the other hand we all know is a nutjob.
Since we're on an unmodded forum and we need content here why not tell us why you despise Xoom?

Xoom is terribly incompetent, like he has less knowledge of marketing than some of these juvenile personalities that make videos on youtube.

He seems to be going to the Doc school of customer relations. People ask how they can help, but he says that he/they know what they are doing and there isn't any way possible for the community to help('cause we're too stupid). He views any sort of helpful suggestion as an insult, really he's like a little kid...then again maybe him and Doc are just really insecure.

I personally haven't dealt with him too much aside from him locking threads and giving me his bullshit responses so you all feel free to tell some stories. I thought I read some KGW guy saying that he failed their trial three times or something?

David, I noticed that a little with xoom also on the helping part.
He still has that cartoonish TS3 banner on the mainpage which looks like a child photoshopped.
The website graphics are horrible and outdated.
I think Tenpin volunteered to do some work as well as Szysporn.
Ialso volunteered to do some graphics also.
Goes through one ear and out the other.

I'd agree on that, there's a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the community but it's refused. It's like when part of the advertising fund $100 of it was towards graphic design work when he could of just gotten any number of people to do some and alot better. That WW2online banner on MMORPG was terrible, 90% of people just glancing with it would associate it with a competitor, World of Tanks

High quality graphic design items cost lots of money. There's guys willing to do it for free but are told to do one. Instead they just want people to folk up money when they could get things for free.

My feeling is xoom's attitude is just to throw money at things so when things do piss up he can blame it on lack of money instead of his competence. I think it's because his parents have given him so many handouts (general manager of subway which his parents own when he was still in high school) that he's never learnt how to do things well on a small budget.

With the way of the world unfortunately his parents will fund any of his business ventures so even if all but one goes shits up he'll have a running business so he can claim he's an entrepreneur and then get more work and money in the future.

Its all the same posts because nothing has changed in the mismanagement of the company or this game in 6 years.

So in turn you see the same things talked about.

If there was a new release or maybe some improvements then we could talk about that.

It goes both ways, again, and I guess it whether you are trying to pay for special deeds or you actually want value for what they are getting for the sub prices asked.
